Globally, information technology is one of the fastest growing professions. Innovation is crucial in almost every sector of the economy. Studies have shown that having a balanced gender diverse teams will lead to more and better innovation and improved financial performance.
A gender diverse workforce will also expand economic opportunities equally. The Award seeks to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women technologists in the Asia-Pacific region. The Top 50 women technologists selected will become the role models of the young girls and women who aspire to good careers in tech. Nominate the inspiring women tech leader here.

This award will:
  • Validate the nominee’s accomplishments and achievements
  • Gain the nominee recognition and visibility in the tech industry in Asia and beyond
  • Empower and inspire other women tech practitioners
  • Build relationships and connections for the nominee’s potential career advancement

Evaluation Criteria

Inspiring
Women who change the world for the better & to help diverse communities; committed to workplace diversity and balance, and advocated for women in tech.
Technical Experts
A technologist, scientist or researcher; academics in computer science, engineering or related disciplines; senior tech roles such as CIO, CTO and CISO.
Leaders
Scientists, academics or technologists who are commercialising their inventions.

Eligibility

  • Women of any nationality, residing in Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • Nominees can be self-nominated or nominated by colleagues, friends, business partners, etc.


The Asia Young Women Rising Tech Stars seeks to recognise exceptional young women technologists who are shaping the future of the industry and contributing to the advancement of society. They are trailblazers, at the forefront of cutting-edge research and development and driving innovation in emerging technologies.

25 recipients will be selected. The Judges will assess the nominations received and select the best candidates.

This award will:
  • Boost confidence and enhance credibility
  • Gain recognition and increased visibility in area of expertise
  • Empower young women to continue to take on new challenges and pursue ambitious goals
  • Inspire other young women to pursue careers in technology

Evaluation Criteria

Technical Excellence
  • Demonstrated mastery of specific technologies or programming languages
  • Significant contributions to complex technical projects or products
  • Innovative problem-solving using cutting-edge technologies
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and adaptability to stay relevant with rapidly evolving tech trends
  • Successful implementation of challenging technical solutions
Leadership
  • Track record of leading technical teams or projects to successful outcomes
  • Initiative in proposing and driving new technological directions within their organisation
  • Leadership roles in tech-focused committees, groups, or initiatives
  • Mentor junior tech professionals or students
Impact
  • Quantifiable improvements in efficiency, performance, revenue or user experience resulting from their work
  • Technological solutions that have addressed significant industry challenge and/or have created good for the community and society
  • Recognition of their work through awards, media coverage, or industry accolades
Research and Innovation
  • Publication of original research in reputable tech journals or conference proceedings
  • Presentations at major technology conferences or symposiums
  • Creation of open-source tools or libraries that have gained significant adoption

Eligibility

  • Between 23 and 35 years old
  • Women of any nationality, residing in Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam
  • Working as a technologist, scientist or researcher, academics in computer science, engineering or related disciplines
  • Pursuing a full-time or part-time post-graduate degree in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity and related disciplines
  • Scientists, academics or technologists who are commercialising their inventions
  • Nominees can be self-nominated or nominated by colleagues, friends, business partners etc

Evaluation Process

  • Nominees would submit a detailed portfolio showcasing their achievements in these four areas
  • A panel of expert judges from diverse tech backgrounds would assess the nominations
